The hacktivist group Anonymous has attacked the website of GlobalX, an airline that has been deporting migrants to El Salvador under a deal with the US government. Their action was an expression of protest against deportations and the Trump administration’s disregard for court decisions.

On May 5, 2025, Anonymous hackers posted a message on the GlobalX subdomain, describing Trump as a “fascist” and citing a judge’s ruling that ruled the deportation of 130 Venezuelan migrants unlawful. It is worth noting that Judge Fernandez Rodriguez was appointed by Trump himself. In addition, the hackers allegedly obtained information from flight manifests and passed them on to media outlets, including 404Media.

The operation was called Operation Dreadnought and, according to Anonymous, was an attempt to enforce a court order that the authorities had ignored. Despite the seriousness of the revelations, GlobalX has not provided official comments, although the website has since been restored.

GlobalX is a fast-growing charter airline based in Miami. Its fleet consists of 22 aircraft, and its clients include the US government, sports teams and tour operators. The deportation of migrants, whom ICE identified as members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, was carried out on the basis of the Enemy Aliens Act (1768), which was last used during World War II.

This cyberattack is not just a political action, but part of a larger struggle for digital rights, legal accountability and opposition to the arbitrariness of state power. Anonymous once again demonstrates that hacktivism remains an effective tool of protest in the current geopolitical context.
