Darktrace to acquire Cado Security

Darktrace, a global leader in artificial intelligence-based cyber security, has announced the acquisition of UK-based Cado Security, which specializes in cyber attack investigation and incident response in cloud environments. The deal is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in February 2025.

The primary goal of the merger is to expand Darktrace’s cloud forensics capabilities by integrating Cado’s technologies with Darktrace’s ActiveAI security platform. This will improve data collection across cloud environments, improve investigation efficiency and incident prioritization for cybersecurity teams. Cado’s research teams in London and Bristol will work with Darktrace’s research centers in Cambridge, UK, The Hague and the Netherlands to develop new solutions for threat detection and response in cloud environments.

Darktrace has invested heavily in cloud solutions, recently launching Darktrace/CLOUD products for AWS and Microsoft Azure, and the merger with Cado Security comes amid growing concerns about the security of cloud services, which are often the starting point for cyber attacks.  Founded by professionals with years of experience, Cado Security is known for developing solutions that automate cloud forensics and incident analysis. Thanks to this merger, Darktrace plans to increase the level of protection of its customers against threats related to cloud and SaaS platforms.

The acquisition is a strategic step for Darktrace and demonstrates its desire to expand the capabilities of cyber security through the use of artificial intelligence. Thanks to the integration of Cado solutions, Darktrace will be able to improve the detection of threats and increase the level of protection of its customers in the conditions of modern cyber security, strengthen the security of cloud technologies, one of the key areas of modern cyber security.
