Kali Linux is a specialized distribution for pentesters, red team experts, and security researchers. It is regularly updated several times a year to add new tools and optimizations. In previous releases, the Kali team changed the packaging of the Raspberry Pi kernel, which caused problems with Nexmon. In version 2025.3, support has been restored along with additional features.
In the new release of Kali Linux 2025.3, users received 10 new tools for security testing, including:
Caido and caido-cli — client and server parts of the framework for web auditing;
Detect It Easy (DiE) — file type identification;
Gemini CLI — Gemini AI agent right in the terminal;
krbrelayx — a tool for Kerberos attacks;
ligolo–mp — a multi-user pivoting tool;
llm–tools–nmap — using LLM to scan networks;
mcp–kali–server — a server for integrating an AI agent;
patchleaks — patch analysis to detect vulnerabilities;
vwifi–dkms — creation of “virtual” Wi-Fi networks.
In addition, the distribution has integrated support for Nexmon — a framework for Broadcom and Cypress chips, which allows you to enable monitoring mode and frame injection. From now on, Nexmon is available not only for Raspberry Pi, but also for other devices.
Kali NetHunter has also been updated: support for Samsung S10 has been added, a new interface in CARsenal for car-hacking and a number of fixes.
