The Roblox platform announced the launch of Roblox Moments, a TikTok-style short-form video service, and introduced new artificial intelligence tools to improve user safety and creativity.

Roblox Moments allows players to record up to 30 seconds of gameplay, trim clips, add music and a description, and then publish them in a shared gallery. The content feed works on the principle of TikTok: users can leave reactions and instantly jump to the selected game via the “Join” button. The feature is currently only available to users over 13 years old and is in beta testing.
In parallel, Roblox introduced Sentinel, an open AI tool for detecting signs of child exploitation. In the first half of 2025, it helped identify 35% of such cases. The company is also expanding its age verification program, which combines facial recognition, document verification and parental consent.
Roblox has long been one of the leaders in the field of UGC (user-generated content). According to the company, users made more than 930 million screenshots and 240 million game videos in July-August 2025 alone. Therefore, the integration of Moments became a logical continuation of the trend towards video content within the platform itself.

However, the innovation comes against the backdrop of a series of lawsuits against Roblox related to shortcomings in protecting children from dangerous content. The launch of Sentinel and the strengthening of age verification can be seen as a response to these accusations.
Roblox is betting on video and artificial intelligence, seeking to transform the platform not only into a gaming space, but also into a social space. At the same time, the success of Moments and AI tools will depend on how well the company can combine user creativity with real protection of their safety.
