Rockstar Games has finally revealed the price of Grand Theft Auto VI, arguably the most anticipated game of the year.

The standard edition of the game will cost $79.99 (around UAH 3,590), while the more expensive Ultimate Edition will be priced at $99.99 (around UAH 4,490). Players will be able to start pre-ordering the game from midnight on June 25.

According to Rockstar Games, GTA 6 is scheduled for release on November 19. Players who pre-order the digital version will be able to begin pre-loading the game on November 12, ensuring they can play immediately at launch.

The developer also confirmed that physical copies of the game will include a digital download code rather than a physical disc. Shipping of physical editions will begin one week before the official release date.

Anyone who pre-orders the game before November 20 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, a collection of in-game items inspired by GTA: Vice City, which was originally released in 2002.

Digital pre-orders will also include a free one-month GTA Plus subscription. Meanwhile, the premium edition will come with an “exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, clothing, and activities,” according to Rockstar. GTA 6 will launch as a single-player title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Given the rise in prices for both consoles and games over the past year, many fans were not surprised by the pricing. “Whether it’s $100 or $200, nobody cares, they’ll buy it anyway,” one X user wrote under Rockstar’s announcement.

While the price itself was not a major source of controversy, some fans criticized Rockstar’s decision to offer separate standard and premium editions. Users described the practice of locking features behind an additional paywall in an offline game as “ridiculous” and “criminal.”

However, many players appeared willing to overlook concerns about pricing and marketing after waiting years for a game that some analysts believe could become the most expensive video game ever made.

Since its release in 2013, GTA 5 has sold more than 230 million copies, and fans have been eagerly awaiting a sequel ever since. Rockstar confirmed development of GTA 6 in February 2022 and has delayed the game twice since then, leading to countless online jokes and even an attempt by a fan to enter Rockstar’s headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland.
