Chinese robotics company Unitree Robotics is entering physical retail by opening its first brick-and-mortar robot store in Beijing. The new location allows customers to see, interact with, and purchase humanoid robots and robot dogs in person, marking a shift toward mainstream consumer adoption.

The store is launched in partnership with JD.com, one of China’s largest retailers. Located inside JD Mall in Beijing’s Shuangjing district, the outlet is currently operating in trial mode ahead of its official opening on December 31.

According to local media, Unitree engineers are working on-site to fine-tune robots and prepare live demonstrations. Visitors will be able to test the devices, explore their capabilities, and purchase models directly in store.

  • A dedicated demonstration area showcases how Unitree robots can be used in real-world scenarios such as home cleaning, elderly care, and educational support. The store will feature flagship products including the G1 humanoid robot and the Go2 quadruped robot dogs.

  • Until now, Unitree has primarily focused on online sales, including through JD.com’s e-commerce platform. For a brief period, the company’s robots were also available for purchase in the United States via Walmart, though the listing was quickly removed by a third-party seller, sparking online discussion.

Industry analysts view the move into physical retail as a strategic step toward making advanced robotics more accessible to everyday consumers, especially as China accelerates its leadership in humanoid robotics.

Unitree’s first physical store signals a shift in how consumer robotics is marketed and sold. By allowing hands-on interaction, the company is positioning robots not as experimental technology, but as practical consumer products ready for everyday use.
