Hackers have reported a hack of Russian company NVO Mars, which supplies combat information and control systems for the Navy. According to the attackers, they managed to steal 250 GB of sensitive data, including technical instructions for the SIGMA, TRASSA and DIEZ systems, which are responsible for coordinating ships, underwater weapons and minelayers.

A message was published on one of the popular data leak forums about the hacking of NVO Mars, a state contractor that develops automated control systems for the Russian Navy. As evidence, the hackers provided samples of PDF documents, technical manuals and a video that allegedly changes the coordinates of Russian mine ships in the DIEZ system.
The Cybernews research team confirmed the authenticity of some of the materials — the documents date back to 2023–2025, which indicates the relevance and criticality of the leak. The stolen files mention:
SIGMA-20385 — a combat fleet control system;
TRASSA — a navigation and tactical system for patrol and missile ships;
DIEZ — a minesweeper control system.
A promotional video from hackers even appeared on the network, in which it is said that the leak could lead to misinformation of Russian officers about the movement of their ships. This could be fatal during combat operations.

NPO Mars is a key player in the Russian military sphere, founded back in 1961 as a naval research institute. The company specializes in control systems for the fleet, tanks, and armored personnel carriers. After launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the firm was sanctioned by the US, EU, Canada, Japan and other countries.
Hacks of this scale demonstrate the vulnerability of Russia’s defense cyber infrastructure, despite the Kremlin’s claims about digital security. Typically, such incidents begin with simple phishing attacks targeting technical or support personnel.
Even if some of the files are outdated, the reality of access to fleet management systems is a critical threat to Russia’s security. In the future, such leaks could strengthen the role of hacktivists and cyber troops as an equal force in military conflicts. There has been no reaction from the Mars NGO yet.
