In this article, several options for powering the router during power outages will be considered. From the simplest to the most complex. The main thing is that the provider provides uninterrupted power supply to its equipment in your home.
One of the simplest options for powering the router is to connect it to EcoFlow/Bluetti, and they, in turn, to the 220V network.
Sometimes, instead of charging stations, an inverter with a 12V battery is used, which is also connected to a 220V network so that the battery can be charged.
Well, the easiest option is to connect the router to the uninterruptible power supply, but you may have to make a small modification of the 220V output from the uninterruptible power supply. Depends on its design.
Ease of implementation
You can connect not only the router, but also other devices. The main thing is to make sure that the power they consume does not exceed what your power supply can provide.
Efficiency. In this version, the conversion of 12V DC > 220V AC > 12/9V DC takes place. Although the efficiency of modern power supply units is quite high, in the case of long-term outages, part of the energy will simply go to heating the air.
Problems when choosing batteries if you use an inverter/uninterruptible power supply.
They take up a lot of space.
The operating voltage of almost all household routers and media converters is 9 or 12 volts. So you can simply find a suitable battery and connect it directly to the router when the light is off.

Long enough battery life
The battery must be connected manually. This means that at the moment of switching, the Internet will disappear
You also need to put the battery on charge manually
Instead of a battery, you can use a powerbank together with a special cable that increases the voltage, or a special trigger that will “demand” 12 or 9 volts instead of the 5 that the powerbank provides (but you also need to consider that not every powerbank can provide this voltage).
If the powerbank connected to the router is put on charge, in fact, it will be possible to get uninterrupted power for it.

Rapid wear of the battery is possible
Another way to provide power to the router is a separate UPS board.
You only need to solder a separate wire that will be connected to the router, to the UPS+ and UPS- outputs. There are different versions: both 9 and 12 volts.
Also, if necessary, you can order a case.

It is necessary to order a corus separately
It is necessary to solder the wires
Although this option is one of the most difficult to implement, because it requires certain soldering skills, it is one of the best, because it takes up little space, has a long battery life, and conserves battery life.

Hello, friends!
We are the Ukrainian Robotics Team – the national robotics team, and we have a big dream! We are working on creating a robot that will be able to adequately represent our country and win the FIRST Global Challenge 2024, which will be held on September 26-29, 2024 in Athens. This is an extraordinary opportunity for us to meet with the most talented teams from around the world, to exchange experience and improve our skills, as well as to show the world the amazing potential of Ukraine. But we need your help to make our dream come true! We are looking for $10,000 to fund our trip, which includes competition expenses, team transfers and accommodation.
Even a small amount will help us reach our goal!
