The investigation reveals interesting details about the activities of the GRU special forces and the methods used to expose them. The article demonstrates how modern OSINT tools and open source analysis can be used to identify the identities of the military, their paths, and their participation in combat operations.

The individuals mentioned in this article are currently actively participating in the war against Ukraine. The published photos have not previously appeared anywhere. The source of the leak was a person from their close circle – the photos and videos were provided voluntarily.

Born on December 4, 1998, probably in the city of Novoaltaysk, Altai Krai, Russian Federation. In 2022, he was actively looking for work, as evidenced by his published resume. There is a high probability that in the same year he signed a contract with military unit No. 28337 of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, since the service phone number of this unit is listed among the specified contact numbers. He has a previous conviction under Article 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – illegal possession of 81 grams of marijuana. He also has a registered account on the 1Win betting service and overdue debt obligations on loans.

Born on November 13, 1993. Probably from the city of Prutsky, Altai Krai, from where he later moved to Barnaul. In 2019, he worked as a fitter-operator at the Barnaul Dairy Plant with a salary of 40 thousand rubles. He had a debt of 1.5 million rubles, which was the reason for the opening of enforcement proceedings – a procedure for the forced execution of a court decision or other obligations through state bailiffs (bailiffs in the Russian Federation).

In the Criminal Records database, he has the marks “Swindler” and “Thief”, and also has a criminal record.

From the released video recording, it is known that he has the rank of senior sergeant. During the conversation in the video, it is mentioned that the military is “from Saratov”, which probably indicates the location of the military unit. He was the owner of a Nissan Patrol 5.6, (number: A221MA122).

Sokolov Yuri Anatoliyovych (рос. — Соколов Юрий Анатольевич)

Private, machine gunner with the call sign “Sokol”. Born on March 2, 1991 in Barnaul, Altai Krai, Russia.

In 2012, he studied as a cadet at the Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Zheleznogorsk. In 2020, he worked in the Special Department of the Federal Fire Service No. 36 of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

He was mobilized in September 2022, after which he signed a contract. Judging by the photos published on VK, in 2023 he served in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In March 2023, former military man Yevgeny Makushenko posted a photo with the caption “memory”, in which Yuri is present. The photo is probably related to the unit in which he previously served.

According to a fundraising post on his father’s page, as of December 2023, Yuriy is serving as a UAV operator in the 60th Separate Special Forces Company (60 ORspN). The same post mentions Belash Yevgeny Aleksandrovich, one of the Russian servicemen who is also present in the joint photos and videos. There is a high probability that he serves with Yuriy Sokolov. The father’s page published a photo of a man, probably Yuriy, against the background of a car that is identical to the one in the other photos.

Yuriy’s friends on VK include the user page “Anna Sokolova,” which belongs to Martynova Anna. The friends also include profiles of other Russian servicemen with whom he is presumably serving. There is evidence that until 2017, Yuriy owned a 2007 Ford Focus with the license plate E999ВВ22.

Born on April 19, 1989 in the village of Kosh-Agach, Altai Krai. In 2013, Kirill Kovadlo posted photos of Zhanaydar on his VK page. The page also featured images of the symbols of the Russian special forces.

In 2016, Zhanaydar actively posted posts about the Russian military and airborne forces on his VK page. According to the merged data of the Russian postal service CDEK clients, in 2022 he received a parcel in the border village of Valuyki, Belgorod Region. A search for the photo on VK revealed an account under the name “Omar Bulanov”, which belongs to Zhanaydar Zhilkibayev.

It also has a financial history:

  • In 2014, he received a fine of 30,000 rubles.

  • In 2019, he had a debt of 11,390 rubles.

In addition, in 2016, Zhanaidar posted an ad for the sale of a 2003 Toyota Verossa with license plate M600AK95.

Maksym Sukovatsyn was born on November 10, 1993.

In 2012, a photo of Maksym in military uniform was posted on his mother’s page, Irina Kovrova (Ryapolova), on the social network Odnoklassniki, presumably during his military service. That same year, a photo of him posing in military uniform near a BMP-1 appeared on the Odnoklassniki page “Maxim Maksymov.”

Comments under these and other army photos indicate that he served in the 57th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade (military unit 46102), stationed in the city of Bikin, Khabarovsk Krai. In 2013, Maksym posted photos in military uniform that were likely taken during a demobilization celebration.

In 2018, he worked as a driver at the Barnaul publishing house “Region”. As of 2023, he had debts on loans. In 2022, the debt was about 358,000 rubles. In 2011, he was on special registration for minors due to car theft.

The VK account under the name “Yevgeny Ivanov” was identified by a photo. Previously, this profile had the name “Yevgeny Belash”.

In 2023, Yuri Sokolov’s father published a post raising funds for a car, noting that his son serves with “B. Yevgeny”. Presumably, this is Belash, which confirms their joint service in a separate special forces company (60 ORspN). In the message, he calls Belash a “cool UAV operator”.

It is also known that Belash appears in the database of NL International, a network marketing company.

Soshnikov Artem Sergeevich (рос. — Сошников Артём Сергеевич)

Artem Soshnikov was born on December 22, 1993 in the village of Zudylovo, Pervomaysky District, Altai Krai.

In 2014, he worked in the administration of a labor agricultural enterprise as a youth worker. Later, in 2016, he indicated his place of work as military unit No. 33859, where he held the position of assistant soloist.

In February 2022, when submitting data to a credit organization, he indicated that he works in military unit No. 33859 as a deputy platoon commander with a salary of 54,000 rubles.

On the VK social network, he is subscribed to the Russian military community “715 Team”. Soshnikov’s phone number is saved in various contacts under the names: “Artem Soshnikov Nl”, “Tyoma Blyat”, “Artem Soshnikov Rgr”, “Artem Rdr”. The VK account under the name “Artem Semenikhin”, belonging to Artem Sergeevich Soshnikov, was identified through a photo search.

Soshnikov appears in four merged databases of credit organizations: CashToYou / OneClickMoney, DengiSrazy.ru, Zaymer.ru, OneClickMoney.ru. He also appears in the network marketing database NL International, where he registered as a dealer in 2017. Owner of a Toyota Platz 1999 №К500ЭУ122

In 2018, he worked as a reconnaissance sapper in military unit No. 55433, where he held the rank of officer. As of 2020, he held the position of senior reconnaissance machine gunner in the same unit. In 2023, he continued to perform the duties of senior reconnaissance machine gunner.

Has a financial history related to microloans: in 2017 he took out microloans, again in 2020. In 2021 he took out microloans for a total of 450 thousand rubles. In 2022 he applied for a loan in the amount of 50 thousand rubles.

His VKontakte profile indicates that he is a graduate of the Shadrinsk Cadet School in 2015. Since 2020, he has been serving in the 40th Separate Marine Brigade (military unit 10103).

In 2021, he was looking for work in Novorossiysk. According to his Odnoklassniki page, as of 2024, he lives in Maikop, but the registered and residential addresses found indicate the city of Shadrinsk, Kurgan Region. He has an account in an online casino.

Among the list of relatives on his Odnoklassniki page is listed Elena Bulgakova (Pugach). Several childhood photos of Nikita were found on her page. However, Elena has a son or grandson, Ivan, and no confirmation of a direct family connection with Nikita has been found. Due to the difference in surnames between Nikita and Takuntseva Anna, who is associated with him through phone numbers in the home television account, it can be assumed that she is his stepmother.

In 2023, he owned a 2012 Lada 217030 Priora with license plate Н427МН45.

Photos from his social networks indicate that in 2018–2019 he served in the Airborne Forces as part of the 10th separate special forces brigade (military unit 51532), subordinate to the GRU of the General Staff of the Russian Federation. Probably, as of 2022 he continued his service.

Has an account on the 1win betting platform.

In 2023, he applied for a microloan in the amount of 5 thousand rubles. Later, enforcement proceedings were opened against him due to a debt of approximately 30 thousand rubles. In 2024, he again applied for a microloan in the amount of 5 thousand rubles.

In 2022, he worked in the auto parts store TD AvtoSnab LLC. From the award video, it is known that he has the military rank of private. Among his friends in VK, the profiles of Yuri Sokolov, Kirill Pukhar, Nikolai Zimin, and Sergey Kokhanovsky are listed. From 2006 to 2011, he received more than 20 fines for traffic violations totaling 35,000 rubles.

Judging by the available data, he held the position of driver-mechanic and electrician. A video recording of the award ceremony indicates that he held the rank of corporal and performed the duties of a signalman.

In 2021, he applied for microloans for a total of 47 thousand rubles. As of 2023, he was listed in the criminal offender database with the mark “Drug Addict”. It is known that in 2022 he used an Android device model SM-A125F.

During the analysis of social networks and the search for the photo, a VK account was found under the name “Anna Khrebtova”, among whose friends the account “Anna Sokolova”, belonging to Martynova Anna Konstantinovna, was found. She is also among the friends of users Yuri Sokolov and Artem Soshnikov.

In 2016, she lived in Novosibirsk. In 2019, she worked at the passenger car depot “Nikolaevka”, and in 2020 – at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Novosibirsk Oblast.
