The article is dedicated to Laura Loomer, a far-right activist and supporter of Donald Trump, who is known for her pro-Russian statements and Ukrainophobic views. The article talks about her activities, spreading of disinformation, participation in conspiracy theories and support of Russian narratives regarding the war in Ukraine.
Laura Loomer, who aspires to become Donald Trump’s press secretary, has long had a relationship with him. In 2015, when Loomer worked for Project Veritas, this organization received $10,000 from Trump. Project Veritas, known for its journalistic provocations, is often accused of unethical methods. In 2017, Loomer, along with Jack Posobec, tried to disrupt a performance of “Julius Caesar” that contained references to Trump, for which she was arrested for trespassing and disorderly conduct.
In 2023, Laura Loomer’s mother, Joanna Elizabeth Loomer, shared photos of Laura with Donald Trump on Facebook, noting that they had visited a golf club in New Jersey together. Joanna called them “friends”. Trump himself posted a video with the caption “Thank you, Laura!”, where Loomer said that her loneliness is related to her admiration for Trump. She admitted that she considers Trump more important than a personal relationship, which is why her partner once made a remark to her.
“Yes, it’s true. Because Trump is more important than you. Trump is going to save our country. So you need to understand that President Trump is more important than you. And if you think you’re more important than President Trump, you must have some personality disorder. That was the end of that relationship. President Trump is my number one priority right now.”
In addition to propaganda and disinformation at X, Lumer also runs a channel at Telegram.
In March 2022, when Ukrainian flags were raised in the US Congress as a sign of support and condemnation of Russian aggression, Laura Loomer took the opposite position. She called for the removal of the Ukrainian flag, publishing her statements in Telegram. This was at a time when the US Congress was actively passing resolutions against the invasion of Russia and called for stronger sanctions against the Russian Federation.
In March 2022, Laura Loomer made another controversial statement on her Telegram channel, claiming that people from the Middle East could enter the United States under the guise of Ukrainian refugees. The post drew further criticism from the public for spreading unfounded fears and undermining support for Ukrainian refugees during the war.
It is worth noting that more than 20,000 civilians died in Mariupol alone, according to rough estimates. At the end of 2023, the UN reported more than 9,000 dead and 17,000 wounded among the civilian population of Ukraine. At the same time, it was emphasized that the real numbers could be much higher, because due to active hostilities, calculations are complicated, and it is difficult to establish the exact number of victims.
Laura Loomer repeatedly expressed a negative attitude towards Ukraine. In December 2023, she spread the idea that aid to Ukraine would allegedly provoke World War III, reflecting her skepticism about Western support for Ukraine. These statements fit into her general rhetoric aimed at discrediting international support for Ukraine during the war.
Shortly after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, a video of a guy with long blond hair declaring his hatred for Republicans and Trump began circulating on social media and in the media. His photo was also published on the X social network. Later it turned out that this video was fake. The clip and photo are believed to belong to a prank blogger called @jewgazing, who looks like the shooter. After the exposure, the prankster hid his posts on the X social network.
On the X social network, Laura Loomer calls herself the “Queen of Evidence” and claims to have been an editor at WSVN (Channel 7) since 2013, although her name is not listed on the company’s official website. She also mentions working for Project Veritas, where she worked from 2015 to 2016, using the alias “Lima.” In 2015, Loomer was involved in a scandalous hidden camera campaign that led to her suspension and a lawsuit from a professor. In 2020-2023, she worked as a reporter with the far-right publication InfoWars, which publishes fake news and conspiracy theories.
Laura Loomer is an active supporter of conspiracy theories, particularly regarding Big Pharma, believing that big pharmaceutical companies inflate drug prices and ignore alternative treatments. She repeatedly wrote about it in her social networks, and also spreads anti-vaccination ideas. Loomer is subscribed to the Facebook account of user Yisroel Chaivkayam, who also actively supports anti-vaccination theses.
Laura Loomer shared a Facebook video from the SGH SG Anon account on the Rumble platform discussing conspiracy theories, including the Deep State. In addition, Loomer in the X social network is subscribed to the account of Brett Weinstein, who distributes the posts of Tucker Carlson, known for his ultra-conservative views and support for Putin. Weinstein also actively promotes anti-vaccination theses, considering himself part of the anti-vaccination movement and calling himself a “professor in exile.”
