We are talking about the shelling of the “Okhmatdyt” children’s hospital in Kyiv on July 8, 2024. Investigators have identified Russian military units and individuals responsible for this crime. In particular, the participation of the 44th Missile Brigade and the 22nd Heavy Bombardment Aviation Division from the Engels and Shaykovka bases was revealed.
On July 8, 2024, from 10:29 a.m. to 12:57 p.m., Russian troops carried out two massive attacks that damaged the Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv. Debris from Russian missiles also hit the family outpatient clinic of the “Isis” maternity hospital in the Dnipro district. In addition, the Russians destroyed three transformer substations in the Holosiivskyi and Shevchenkovskyi districts, destroyed the entrance of a residential building in Syrka. As a result of the attack, a high-rise building and a business center on Ushinskogo Street were also damaged.
On July 8, 2024, the “Okhmatdit” children’s hospital in Kyiv suffered several direct hits. The new building of the oncology department was hit by an Kh-101 missile, which had a typical downward trajectory with no visible damage, refuting Russian propaganda claims of its previous air defense damage. At the impact site, the SBU found the wreckage of the Kh-101 missile, including the rear part with the serial number and the tail rudder.
These missiles are usually launched from Tu-22-M2, Tu-160, Tu-95MS bombers based at Engels-2 Air Base near Smolensk. The Telegram channel of the “Okhmatdyt” hospital published a video of the destruction of the building, as well as the testimony of a doctor who was injured during an operation that took place during the attack. The old building of the hospital was also damaged. Svitlana Lukyanchuk, a pediatrician-nephrologist, died as a result of the attack.
