The project is supported by President Donald Trump and is aimed at strengthening the US leadership in the field of artificial intelligence. US President Donald Trump and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced the Stargate project, a joint venture between OpenAI, Oracle and Softbank. The project is aimed at strengthening the position of the USA in global competition with China and other countries in the field of artificial intelligence.

The two companies have committed to invest US$100 billion in the first phase and up to US$500 billion in total over the next four years. The project will begin with the construction of a data center in Texas, and will later expand to other states. Stargate will also use technology from partners including NVIDIA, Arm and Microsoft. Sam Altman reported that the first 100 million US dollars have already been allocated for the development of the supercomputer. Stargate will be an independent corporation with management control of OpenAI. Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son will be the chairman of the board.

Stargate comes amid fierce competition between the US and China in the technology sector: OpenAI and Microsoft have already worked together on an AI initiative in 2024, but Stargate will bring together even more key players. This investment will contribute to the reindustrialization of the United States, the creation of thousands of jobs and the strengthening of national security. “Stargate” is not only an investment in the future of AI, but also a strategic step towards US leadership in the global high-tech industry. It will provide important economic benefits, new jobs and strengthen national security.
