BreachForums shut down again after 4.0 launch attempt

The administrator of the scandalous BreachForums forum announced the final closure of the resource, putting up for sale the database and source code for a symbolic 2,000 $— while claiming another “FBI raid.”

The famous hacker site BreachForums, which survived the high-profile arrest of its founder Pompompurin in 2023, tried to revive for the fourth time — this time under the leadership of administrator Anastasia. Despite the loud statements about the launch of BF 4.0 on April 24, 2025, a few hours later the site was “disconnected” again — supposedly by the FBI.

The situation is complicated by the fact that the pro-Russian hacker group Dark Storm Team continues to attack the forum, the third DDoS in just a week. At the same time, mentions of the arrests of IntelBroker and ShinyHunter have already been refuted or are unconfirmed. In addition, the message is full of gross grammatical errors, which casts doubt on its veracity.

BreachForums was one of the key forums for trading leaked information until its liquidation in 2023. After the arrest of the founder, the leadership changed repeatedly. Previous attempts at revival ended in arrests or chaos. A new generation of administrators sought to save the project, but hacktivist attacks, law enforcement actions and internal disagreements led to the collapse of the platform.

The ultimate fate of BreachForums remains unclear. It is likely that the “sale for $2K” is a fake bait or a diversionary maneuver. Perhaps this is really the end. However, one thing is certain: distrust, chaos and continuous attempts at resuscitation are a classic scenario for the collapse of any shadow empire in the digital age.
