Google has expanded its AI clothing try-on feature so users can now generate a full-body digital model from a single selfie instead of requiring a full-body photo. This update simplifies the virtual fitting process and is launching initially in the United States.

The updated feature uses Google’s Nano Banana model, part of its Gemini 2.5 Flash Image suite. After uploading a selfie, users can select their regular clothing size and the system automatically generates several full-body images for virtual try-on. Users can then choose their preferred image and save it for future use.
In addition to the selfie option, users still have the choice to upload a full-body photo or select from preset avatars representing various body types. This enhancement makes online shopping more intuitive and closer to an in-store fitting experience.
By enabling virtual outfit try-ons from a single selfie, Google’s latest update makes online shopping more accessible and personalized, although the accuracy of the generated images may vary depending on the photo and clothing style.
