Hacking forum BreachForums has published a leak of data from the Trump Hotels hotel chain. The attack was likely not financially or politically motivated; its goal was to prove the reliability of new cybercriminals.

A hacker under the pseudonym FutureSeeker posted more than 164,910 records related to the Trump Hotels email notification service on BreachForums. Analysis by vx-underground shows that the combined database contains:
Experts who analyzed the leak suggest that FutureSeeker wants to establish itself among cybercriminals. The data covers the period from January 18, 2018 to January 15, 2025. vx-underground claims that the leak did not contain sensitive customer data such as check-in dates, payment information or phone numbers. Given the timing of the leak, the attack does not appear to be politically motivated, but Trump’s campaign has been targeted by hackers before: in August 2024, Iran staged an attack on Trump’s campaign headquarters in an attempt to transfer data to competitors.
The Trump Hotels database breach represents a new cyber threat to the hotel industry. While there may not be any financial consequences in this case, the fact that hackers gained access to corporate systems is worrying.
