International law enforcement agencies shut down the Nemesis market

Nemesis Market, which has been operating since 2021, has been a major cybercrime hub with over 150,000 user accounts and 1,100 sellers worldwide. The platform’s products included illicit drugs, illegally obtained data, and an array of cybercriminal services such as ransomware and DDoS attacks. The investigation resulted in the seizure of 94,000 euros worth of cryptocurrency and the seizure of the market’s digital infrastructure in Germany and Lithuania.

The closure of Nemesis Market is another success in the global fight against cybercrime. Through ongoing cooperation between countries and the use of advanced investigative techniques, the authorities are sending a strong signal to cybercriminals.

Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Agency (BKA) led the raids after a comprehensive investigation launched in October 2022. The raids are part of a wider crackdown on online criminal activity that recently began after other similar venues on the DarkNet, such as Kingdom Market and Crimemarket, were shut down. Although no arrests have been made following the closure of Nemesis Market, investigations into the platform’s users and sellers are ongoing. This operation highlights the growing effectiveness of international law enforcement cooperation in the fight against cybercrime and the suppression of shadow markets.
