The US Department of Homeland Security has announced that it has taken down more than 350 websites used to illegally import and sell counterfeit silencers and switches for Glock pistols.

Made in China, these devices allow semi-automatic handguns to be illegally converted into automatic rifles. As a result of the raid, more than 700 illegal devices, 87 silencers and dozens of weapons were seized.

The investigation began in August 2023, when law enforcement officers uncovered a large-scale scheme to sell counterfeit devices through several websites. The mufflers and switches came from China disguised as innocuous goods such as “toys” and “necklaces”. After collecting the evidence, the operatives of the special service seized and confiscated the domains.

US federal authorities have taken down more than 350 websites that were illegally selling counterfeit silencers and switches for Glock pistols imported from China.
