General Valery Solodchuk is one of the key figures in the Russian army, involved in the occupation of Crimea in 2014 and the creation of the 1st Army Corps in Donbas. Today, he leads the Center group and is responsible for the so-called “meat assaults” that lead to massive losses among personnel. The OSINT investigation exposes his career path, war crimes, and luxurious family life, which contrasts sharply with the tragedies of the war. The material helps to understand Solodchuk’s role in the Russian Federation’s military aggression and emphasizes the importance of recording evidence for international courts.

From Crimea to “meat storms” in Ukraine

Colonel General Solodchuk currently holds the positions of Commander of the Central Military District (CMD) and Commander of the Center Group of Forces (GV).

While his wife and two daughters lead a luxurious lifestyle on the Kremlin’s bloody money, he manages not only to lead “meat assaults”, but also to maintain specific non-status relationships with his subordinates.

General Solodchuk

Born on March 24, 1971 in the village of Chervonyi Yar, Astrakhan Region.

Graduated from the Leningrad Suvorov Military School in 1988, four years later from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after Margelov, the Frunze Military Academy in 2004, and the Military Academy of the General Staff (GAS) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2012. Already in 2014, under his leadership, servicemen of the 7th Airborne Assault Division seized administrative buildings in the Ukrainian Crimea.

Since the fall of this year, he has been involved in the formation of the 1st Army Corps of the Southern Military District in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk Region. In 2015, he took up the position of Deputy Commander of the 5th Army of the Eastern Military District (VPO). Two years later, he was promoted to Chief of Staff of the 36th Army of the Airborne Forces. And from 2020 to May 2022, he was the commander of the 36th Army.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022, Solodchuk commanded units of the 36th Army as part of the East Military District. In 2023, he was the Chief of Staff – Deputy Commander of the Center Military District, and in 2024, he held a similar position in the North Military District.

According to the SBU, by order of the North Military District Commander, Colonel General Lapin, Solodchuk organized the preparation of an air strike on the Epicenter hypermarket in Kharkiv on May 25, 2024. In early 2025, he commanded the Kursk Military District, and in May he was transferred to the position of Commander of the Central Military District and the Center Military District.

We managed to learn about a revealing case that happened to Solodchuk in April 2012, when he was a student at the State Academy of Criminal Investigation. His Toyota Camry (2008 model, license plate number A581AA37) was stolen from the parking lot behind his residence on Akademika Anokhin Street.

Sodomchuk complained to his colleagues at the time that the cops had never found the Toyota – they said that most likely local “experts” were “working on it.” But there was a rumor in the State Academy of Criminal Investigation that his “good friend” from Ivanovo, for whom Solodchuk had used this car, had taken revenge on him.

General Solodchuk’s wife

The status of a “general’s wife” and material benefits, including those earned during the war against Ukraine, help Solodchuk’s legal wife turn a blind eye to his adventures. She has a medical degree, works as a therapist, loves to visit the dacha, but does not deny herself trips to exotic countries.

The General’s Daughters

Her father’s finances allow Sodomchuk’s eldest daughter to lead a relatively glamorous lifestyle.

At one time, she was trained as a sommelier, and now calls herself an “international wine specialist.” Since the “fasteners” in the family have long been torn, she does not hesitate to make frequent trips to the countries of the “decaying West.”

Solodchuk’s younger daughter tries to keep up with her older one – she loves expensive restaurants, branded things, and traveling. But, unlike Anna, she decided to please both parents – she graduated from the Kirov Military Medical Academy. Now she is “patching up” the leftovers from her father’s “meat raids.”

General and adjutant

Well, the most piquant story happened to Solodchuk recently at the headquarters of the Northern Military District. A “black cat” ran between him and the commander of the Northern Military District, Lapin.

The role of the “cat” was played with pleasure by Lapin’s adjutant Dima Vitushkin, known in narrow circles under the nickname “Dobi” (in the photo above, he is on the right). In the correspondence of “Dobi” on social networks that we studied, there is a version that their amorous successes were prevented by the chief of the General Staff, Valery Gerasimov.

Allegedly, having learned about the “rainbow” situation in the command of the Northern Military District, Gerasimov went crazy and transferred Sodomchuk to the Central Military District, and within a few months he removed Lapin from the Northern Military District altogether and sent him to deal with his direct duties in the Leningrad Military District.

Conclusion

The story of Colonel General Valery Solodchuk is a prime example of how the Russian military elite combines criminal orders, a luxurious lifestyle, and moral degradation. His career, from the occupation of Crimea to command of the Center group, is full of war crimes that took the lives of thousands of Ukrainians. At the same time, his family uses the money obtained in the war, demonstrating hypocrisy and cynicism.
