Oukitel Unveils a Rugged Smartphone With a Built-In Lighter

Oukitel has unveiled a new lineup of rugged smartphones designed for work and outdoor activities. The WP63 drew the most attention with its built-in electric fire starter, 20,000mAh battery, and powerful camping light.

Oukitel unveiled its new devices at the annual IFA technology exhibition in Berlin. The company presented several smartphones aimed at professionals, travelers, and people who frequently work outdoors.

The standout model was the rugged Oukitel WP63, which the manufacturer describes as an “all-in-one outdoor companion.” The smartphone features a 20,000mAh battery, 33W fast charging, and 18W reverse charging through a built-in USB Type-C cable.

The WP63 also comes with a powerful camping light and loudspeakers designed for outdoor adventures and emergency situations. Its most unusual feature is a built-in electric fire starter that can be used to start a fire outdoors.

The second device in the new lineup is the Oukitel WP70 Ultra, which is also designed for professional and outdoor use. The smartphone features a 16,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, while its body measures 16.4mm thick.

The WP70 Ultra has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a thermal camera with a resolution of 256 × 192 pixels. It can be used to detect heat signatures in the wild or while performing professional tasks.

The third model, the Oukitel WP600, is positioned as a rugged gaming smartphone. It features 24GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 processor released in 2023, and dynamic RGB lighting. To prevent overheating under heavy workloads, the manufacturer equipped the device with a dual-fan active cooling system.

Oukitel specializes in rugged mobile devices with large batteries and additional features for work, travel, and emergency situations. With its new lineup, the company has focused on specialized capabilities ranging from starting fires and thermal imaging to active cooling for mobile gaming.
