Ukraine has presented a new strike drone “Khmarinka”, created with an emphasis on mass production and accessibility for the front. The development belongs to the defense-tech company “General Chereshnya” and is already being prepared for transfer to combat units.
In a “low-cost response” to enemy strike drones actively employed on the battle field, the new UAV was developed by UAS. The objective of the project is to develop an affordable, easy to manufacture, and highly effective weapon to attack and destroy targets at the tactical level.
The Khmarinka has an ability to carry up to 7 kilograms of warheads, travel distances of up to 50 kilometers. In addition, there may be flights of up to 60 minutes; therefore, the Khmarinka may be utilized either for short-term precision attacks or long-range reconnaissance and target search.
UAS hopes for rapid development and manufacturing capabilities due to the simplicity of the design. Due to its simple design, the UAS can produce thousands of these drones without having to go through complicated technological processes which is very important in today’s fast-paced conflict environment.
For free, the first shipments of the Khmarinka are being transferred to the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine. The company believes that this will provide them with immediate feedback from the military regarding what modifications need to be made to the drone based upon their needs at the front line.
The inexpensive, mass production of simple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is now becoming a major factor in modern warfare. Rather than utilizing expensive single systems that require months or years before they are ready for deployment, simple platforms are increasingly being employed that can quickly make up for lack of quantity and production rate in order to support the military forces in meeting their operational requirements. As such, Ukrainian developers are rapidly developing solutions that can meet the demands of the front lines as needed.
It is anticipated that within the next few weeks, the Cloud will be available for purchase via the Brave1 Market platform allowing for a much greater scale of utilization across all levels of military units.
Based upon the stated characteristics if verified under fire conditions, the Cloud may become one component of a tactical advantage on the front line.
