The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially put into operation the new Ukrainian drone “Chaklun”, which, despite its compact size, is capable of performing reconnaissance and artillery tasks, is resistant to electronic warfare, and is equipped with modern software.

The latest Chaklun unmanned aerial vehicle complex (UAV), created in Dnipro, successfully passed the codification procedure and received permission for delivery to Ukrainian military units. Thanks to high-tech materials and domestic software, this drone can perform a number of tasks even in difficult weather conditions. “Wizard” is able to adjust artillery fire and use automatic flight mode, returning to the take-off point in case of loss of communication. Its flight range is up to 150 km, and its speed is up to 90 km/h.

The project began in 2022, when the developers announced the serial production of this unmanned complex. The name “Witch” appeared due to the surprise of the engineers, who noted the high resistance of the device to the means of radio-electronic warfare. The system supports photo and video recording of the terrain, has a duplicated inertial navigation system and the ability to work in both manual and automatic modes.

“Chaklun” is an example of modern technological achievements of Ukraine in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles. This BpAK provides the Ukrainian military with the necessary intelligence and increases the effectiveness of artillery operations. Thanks to this, the drone plays an important role in modern warfare and demonstrates the technological potential of Ukraine.
