The decision to develop a new drone for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was made after an extraordinary meeting of the Coalition of Drones, which includes Great Britain, Latvia, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany and Sweden.

The new RQ-35 Heidrun UAV is a mini UAV optimized for reconnaissance and low-altitude video surveillance tasks. It is equipped with high-tech cameras that send clear real-time video images over a distance of more than 30 kilometers, with optical zoom in the range of 20x-40x and additional digital zoom functions.

  • According to the technical parameters, the RQ-35 Heidrun is distinguished by a flight speed of 60 km/h, a deployment time of only 5 minutes, as well as an impressive autonomous flight time of up to 100 minutes.

This aircraft is capable of conducting surveillance from a height of up to 3.5 kilometers, has a payload weight of 2.3 kg and provides a 360-degree view thanks to a rotating camera. The control range is 10-12 km with visual control and up to 30 km with the use of the tracker antenna.

The drone is also equipped with a modern data encryption system that operates in the 2.2-2.5 GHz radio frequency range, making it resistant to electronic jamming and signal interception. In addition, Heidrun can use autonomous navigation algorithms to bypass obstacles and return to base independently in case of signal loss or other unforeseen situations.
