The new project, known as the Institute, will be supported by leaders from Microsoft and Nvidia and will be housed at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. The goal of the institute is to promote Israel’s leadership in implementing the capabilities of artificial intelligence in cyber security, medicine, finance and education.
At the initiative’s announcement last month, Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog joined Julio at the event, emphasizing the importance of Israel’s human capital and its high-tech and financial ties. According to Herzog, such initiatives are critical for the future of Israel and will allow the country to become a leader in this field.
Julio has long been in contact with the Israeli government and claims Pegasus software helped locate Israeli hostages taken during a Hamas raid last October. Julio stepped down as CEO of NSO Group in 2022. The institute will teach leaders of leading companies how to best use artificial intelligence and will create modern AI research laboratories, including supercomputing infrastructures.
The Artificial Intelligence Institute, founded by Shalev Julio, aims to advance Israel’s leadership in AI by providing training and development of the latest technologies. This initiative promises to have a significant impact on various industries, including cyber security, medicine, finance and education, and highlights the importance of innovation for the country’s technological future.
