Want to find the exact location that appeared in a video? It’s possible even without direct clues! In this article, we’ll look at an effective method for identifying a location using Google Maps and image search.

Step-by-step location determination algorithm

1) A screenshot was taken from a video showing mountains and buildings, followed by a Google image search. The text on the car, “******NE LES BAINS,” suggested that this was a town in France.

2) Visually similar results were obtained in the search results. The address of the house on the website resembles the one seen on the car. The architecture and landscape correspond to the location in the video. The map indicates that the likely location is near the exit to the main road that runs from north to south.

3) Analysis of the terrain confirmed its correspondence to the images in the video, as well as the location of the main road.

4) A suitable intersection was found by brute force.

Conclusion

Determining a location from a video is possible even with minimal details. Using image search, analysis of architecture, road signs, landscape and geographical landmarks, you can narrow down your search and find the exact location. This method is effective for exploring new places, confirming the location of objects or even solving geographical puzzles.
