Geoint Challenge (Part 9) “Golden Nut” Residential Complex: Location Analysis and Identification Methods

The Golden Nut Residential Complex in Lviv is a modern residential complex located at 5 Boykivska Street. This new building is already presented in open sources, and its location can be confirmed using Google Maps and Google Lens.

Let’s take a look at the panorama

In Fig. 9.1 we observe a residential development consisting of several multi-storey buildings. We also draw attention to the private territory, limited by a blue fence. Several buildings are visible, whose architectural style differs from the old housing stock, which may indicate the construction of a new residential complex (RC), which is still in the completion stage.

We upload the image to Google Lens, which instantly finds several matches. Among the results, we see three websites that host similar images of this residential complex. This confirms that this development is already mentioned in open sources, and its authenticity can be verified through additional search (Figure 9.2).

We analyze the information we find and come across references to the residential complex “Golden Nut”. We additionally check its location, since we initially assumed that it was located in Lviv. The discovered publication indicates a specific address – Boykivska Street, 5, which fully confirms our assumption (Fig. 9.2 and 9.3).

Using Google Maps Street View, we compare the found address with panoramic images of this area (Figure 9.4).

Conclusion

Based on the analysis, we can conclude that the residential development we examined does indeed correspond to the “Golden Nut” residential complex in Lviv. Using Google Lens and checking via Google Maps Street View allowed us to confirm the reliability of the information received. The complex is located at 5 Boykivska Street, which is confirmed by open sources. Panoramic images show that some of the buildings are still under construction, and the architecture differs from the old housing stock, which indicates a new development format.
