In this geochallenge, the coordinates of the area were precisely determined using visual clues, in particular the chimney of Kharkiv CHPP-5. Thanks to the use of Google Lens, satellite images, and Google Street View, it was possible to identify the E105 route and obtain geolocation.
A blue sign is visible near the road, presumably indicating an exit (see Figure 11.1). The small amount of surrounding buildings suggests that this may be a bypass or a highway outside the city limits.
A tall smokestack is also visible in the frame (Figure 11.2), which became a key clue — such objects usually belong to CHP plants or large industrial enterprises.
To find out what exactly is depicted, we used the Google Lens tool (Figure 11.3), which among the options gave Kharkiv CHP-5. A feature of the pipe design — the alternation of red and white sections — confirms this version.
Next, satellite images from Google Maps were used for verification (Figure 11.4). Two significant traffic interchanges are visible near the CHP. Analysis of their shape and location showed that the lower one completely matches the photo.
The final stage was a field check using Google Street View (Figure 11.5). In panoramic mode, we managed to find the same fragment of the road on the E105 highway, finally confirming the coordinates.

So, thanks to careful analysis of the photos, the use of Google Lens, satellite maps and Street View panoramas, it was possible to accurately determine the location and confirm that the pictures depict the Kharkiv CHP-5. This task demonstrates how even a single detail — such as a pipe or a road sign — can be a clue to the solution. As a result, the exact coordinates were established: 49.9604658193427, 36.129565187948145.
